Dr. Amanda Gerlach discovered her passion for orthodontics while shadowing her own orthodontist, where she was drawn to the precision, problem-solving, and meaningful patient relationships the field offers. She found her true calling in craniofacial orthodontics, where she can support patients and their families over many years, building lasting connections and understanding their unique journeys. Known for her warm and personable approach, Dr. Gerlach takes the time to connect with patients beyond their treatment— whether it’s asking about school, sports, or life milestones—creating a comfortable and supportive experience for all ages.
Dr. Gerlach earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine–Arizona in 2016. She continued her specialty training at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, completing her Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and a Master of Dental Science degree in 2019. She further advanced her expertise through a fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, earning her Certificate in Cleft, Craniofacial, and Special Care Orthodontics in 2020. Her extensive training reflects her dedication to delivering thoughtful, comprehensive care that not only enhances smiles but also improves patients’ ability to eat, speak, breathe, and function.
Dr. Amanda Gerlach offers a comprehensive range of advanced orthodontic services, reflecting her specialized training and commitment to individualized patient care. Her expertise includes nasoalveolar molding and ear molding for infants, as well as alveolar bone graft preparation for patients with cleft and craniofacial conditions. She is also skilled in utilizing temporary anchorage devices (TADs) to enhance treatment precision, performing laser-assisted gingival recontouring to improve smile aesthetics, and providing clear aligner therapy for patients seeking a more discreet orthodontic option.
