5 Things You Won’t Get with Mail-Order Orthodontics

5 Things You Won't Get with Mail-Order Orthodontics - Orthodontist in Salt Lake City, Utah

Salt Lake is super online. It’s great! We here at Foothill Orthodontics love ordering out, skipping the theatre to stay in and watch the latest films online, and, when possible, working from home is great too! Keep reading to learn 5 things you wont get with mail-order orthodontics

But I know what doesn’t sound too great, and that’s trying to get my orthodontic needs taken care of by myself at my computer. The whole thing sounds off.

And yet, online, mail-order orthodontic treatments have somehow become a thing. They’re supposed to save you time; they’re supposed to save you money. But what are they really worth? We asked Dr. Chandler and Dr. Anderson to discuss the pros and cons of online options. And guess what? It turns out all that promising stuff about saving time and money skips over all the really important stuff. Let’s find out more below.

What is Mail-Order Orthodontics?

It can be easy to be taken in by a flashy website and a few buzzwords. But what am I getting with mail-order ortho? How does it work?

Here’s what happens: You’ll complete a questionnaire online. After that, you’ll take a few cell phone pics, hopefully getting enough detail for the site to recommend a treatment. Then comes a gunky, outdated impressions kit in the mail. After all that, you’ll get a set of aligners a few weeks later. That is, if they even approve you for treatment.

They want you to think you can save time and money. But what do they want you to miss out on? A whole lot, when it comes down to it.

Not only is it super easy to end up spending more time and money with mail-orders, but you’re also missing out on some key features. What are they?

What am I missing with mail-order?

What are we missing when we go online? Dr. Chandler, Dr. Anderson, and the whole team here at Foothill Orthodontics want to ensure you get everything you need to keep you smiling.

Anonymous mail-order operations will tell you that you can save time and money. That’s often just the opposite of what happens.

5 Things You Won't Get with Mail-Order Orthodontics

Free In-person consultation

Dr. Chandler and Dr. Anderson are members of the SLC community, just like you. And, just like you, they know money isn’t cheap. That’s why consultations are free – every time.

Fun, Welcoming Environment

Corrective care can be intimidating; we get it. That’s why we’ve gone out of our way to ensure that Foothill Orthodontics is a fun, relaxing environment. Whether it’s in Foothill or Holladay, we’re thrilled to see you, and we want you to feel welcome!

There’s a reason the vast majority of our new business comes from word-of-mouth referrals.

Personalized Treatment Plans

Dr. Chandler and Dr. Anderson have decades of experience working with all kinds of patients and have the expertise to develop a personalized course of care just for you. You can’t get that online.

With mail-order, assuming nothing goes wrong, you’ll take a picture to convey some superficial features of your teeth and jaw’s structure and health. DIY impressions will (hopefully) model more in-depth features of your starting point so that an anonymous provider can mail you a dubiously-fitting aligner. Why risk it?

Real-time Care

With mail-order options, there’s just no way to ensure your treatment is going according to plan. Teeth and jaws respond differently to treatment, and with the attention of proper in-person orthodontic treatment, it’s easier to be sure you’re on the right track.

Dr. Anderson, Dr. Chandler and the team will make sure that no matter how your teeth and jaws respond to care, going forward, you’ll be moving in the right direction!

Comprehensive Care

Every patient, every jawline, and every set of teeth is different. Clear aligners just can’t fix many issues, and traditional metal braces are sometimes the best option. You can’t get that online.

Here at Foothill Orthodontics, we love aligners just as much as everyone else. That’s why we proudly offer the latest Invisalign aligners and state-of-the-art scanning tech. But we also offer everything else to ensure that no matter what you need, we’ve got you covered.
